J$ 780 million in donations have been raised through supportjamaica.gov.jm as part of Hurricane Melissa relief and recovery efforts. Director General of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), Commander Alvin Gayle, thanked the over 17,000 donors who assisted our country in reaching this milestone at the Post Cabinet Press Briefing earlier today (December 10). Commander Gayle added that these funds are being used to acquire building materials for affected civilians.
